Accommodations
We are planning on having the ceremony and reception at the Hopetown Harbour Lodge. We have requested a block of 12 double rooms to be temporarily held for wedding guests from Thursday, May 25 to Monday, May 29, 2006. The rooms may be booked by guests fairly soon and this is a holiday weekend so please contact the hotel to make your reservations early to secure your room. Other accommodations are also listed below. Please visit the websites for pricing information. Some hotels may have minimum night stays for the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
The Hopetown Harbour Lodge (click to visit website) is located a short walk from the ferry landing and from the quaint island homes and shops of Hopetown. The rooms have views of either the ocean or the harbor. The second and third story rooms often have particularly good views. The Hopetown Harbour lodge also has detached cottages overlooking the ocean. We recommend that you consider booking at the Lodge. We have requested a limited block of rooms to be held for wedding guests at the Hopetown Harbour Lodge.
The Abaco Inn (click to visit website) is beyond walking distance and is located about a 15 minute golf cart ride from the Hopetown Harbour Lodge and "downtown" Please see the map link for more location information. It is in a quiet oceanside setting well outside of Hopetown. It is a bit more spread out than the Hopetown Habour Lodge.
The Seaspray Resort is five more minutes down the road from the Abaco Inn and has a marina. The accommodations haven't been as recently updated as in the case of the Hopetown Lodge and Abaco Inn.
The Club Soleil is just across the harbor across from "downtown" and beside the lighthouse. It is accessible only by boat which can be rented or a lift can be arranged with the Club.
If you are interested in renting a house for your stay there are many houses of all sizes and descriptions available in Hopetown and throughout Elbow Cay. Hopetown Hideaways has many listings.
Please get in touch directly with the hotel to make reservations.

Flying Into the Abacos
You fly into Marsh Harbor, Abaco by small twin engine airplane. It takes about one hour at low scenic altitude to fly over. Air fare as of August 2005 ranged from about $220. to $400. per person. The planes of some of the smaller airlines seat about 6 to 8 passengers. The airlines encourage you to travel light with a total baggage weight of no more than 40 pounds! The good news is that dress on the island is casual, shorts, shirts, sandles and bathing suits for the most part. More about dress and packing suggestions in the ISLAND FAQ. Some of the airlines that serve the area include:
The crossing.

Once you arrive in Marsh Harbor you take a shuttle for a 15 minute ride from the airport to the ferry dock. If you are staying in an efficiency you may want to stop off at the grocery store in Marsh Harbor before riding out to Hopetown. Also, there are NO ATM machines in Hopetown so you may want to stop on the way to the ferry dock while you are still in Marsh Harbor. Be sure to confirm prices with the taxi driver in advance. The ferry to Hopetown is operated by Alburys Ferry They run during daylight hours on weekdays and twice in the evening on weekends and takes about 25 minutes. The ferry is $20. roundrip in the same day or $15. each way per passenger. The passage between the islands is largely sheltered in the Sea of Abaco and the boat covered. Tell the ferry captain where you are staying and he will radio ahead to have you met at the dock by someone with a golf cart to help with luggage.
